Abdominal Crunches & More!
Both men and woman want those coveted ripped abs to show off to the world. Nothing is sexier then seeing a well sculpted midsection. Not only are abs great to look at, they also have a major purpose in the support of your body. They help with posture and help protect the back in many movements.
Let's face facts though, the only way to actually find your abs is to lose the body fat covering them. This includes eating correctly and doing the necessary fitness routine. Usually, the hardest part for anyone in succeeding is their diet. It is absolutely necessary to eat the correct foods in order to lose and maintain the correct weight. A diet with high protein content, moderate carbohydrates and only the correct fats will give the results that are desired.
There is a large misconception that you can spot reduce your way to fit abdominals. There is no such thing. You must first lose that fat, then exercise the muscle into a sculpted masterpiece. With the diet in order, at least a moderate amount of cardio is recommended. This will not only help in burning excess fat, it will also aid in the toning process. And of course it is always important to drink lots of water, to help make you feel full and flush out toxins and fat from the body.
There are some great exercises to train the abdominals. One great exercise is abdominal crunches. This is a basic standard and doesn’t require any special equipment. They can be done just about anywhere and are a good addition to your daily workout.
It is important to do abdominal crunches the correct way. You need to lie on your back on a padded surface, bending your knees to about 90 degrees with your feet flat on the floor. Choose the position of your hands and arms according to your abdominal strength. The closer your hands are to your head, the more difficult the crunch becomes.
You do not want to intertwine your fingers as this can add stress on the neck. Start each movement slowly focusing on using your abdominal muscles. Stop when your shoulder blades are about 6 inches off the floor and hold this position briefly and then slowly lower to the starting position.
You will want to remember that it is not necessary to do hundreds of reps of abdominal crunches, or any abdominal exercise. It’s about quality and concentration on the abdominals.
With determination, clean eating, cardio and exercises such as abdominal crunches you will be on your way to a sexy six-pack.
